Copy workflow

How to copy an edited screenshot

Copy is the fastest finish for a screenshot you want to paste into Slack, Discord, Teams, email, a document, a bug report or a chat.

The Copy control in EditScr for placing an edited screenshot on the clipboard.
Copy creates a ready-to-paste PNG of the completed edit.

Finish an edit and copy it to your clipboard.

Open EditScr

Copy the result

  1. Complete your annotations, crop and privacy check.
  2. Select Copy in the upper-right corner, or press Ctrl + C on Windows/Linux or + C on macOS.
  3. Open the destination app and paste with its normal paste shortcut.

EditScr places a PNG version of the finished screenshot on the clipboard. PNG is lossless and widely supported, which makes it a dependable format for adding a screenshot directly to another application.

Clipboard permissions

Copy works in current browsers on a secure HTTPS connection and normally must be triggered by your click or keyboard shortcut. If a browser blocks access to the clipboard, use Download instead, then attach the exported file manually.

Copy the edited result, not the original

The image on your system clipboard before you start editing is still the original screenshot. Use EditScr’s Copy action after editing to replace it with the new, flattened image. This matters especially when you cropped, redacted or pixelated information.
